Old
Ordnance Survey Maps
A
selection of highly detailed "Old Ordnance Survey Maps", taken
from the 1/2500 plans and reprinted at approximately 14" to the
mile.
We are frequently asked
what the maps actually show-if a particular village or
street-sometimes-even an individual house! We have been asked to supply
the map with the customers house exactly in the centre! Seldom are large
scale maps available showing villages - they simply would not be viable
. With the best will in the world we cannot answer all these questions
or assist in your particular research. But it really is amazing the
detail this series of maps show - bearing in mind the low cover price.
We will always try and help where possible, but do bear the above points
in mind when enquiring.
YORKSHIRE (West)
Bradford
(North) 1906
This detailed map covers the northern part of central Bradford,
including the eastern part of Manningham. Coverage stretches from Salt
Street eastward to Undercliffe Street, and from the Midland (Forster Sq)
station northward to Queen's Road and Clifton Villas. Features include
the railway approaches to the Midland station, including full track
layout, turntable, goods shed, sidings etc; much of Peel Park; Cliffe
Wood & Spinkwell Quarries, Otley Road, Bolton Road, Hill Side
Villas, Bradford Cemetery, Sunnybank Laundry, Wapping, Bradford Canal
with wharf and warehouses, Manningham Lane, Infirmary, Lumb Lane Mills,
Clifton Villas, Valley Mills, Valley Road Gas Works, tramways, Valley
Parade and football ground. This is a very busy map with countless
streets, many filled with cramped terraces or back-to-back housing. On
the reverse we include street directory entries for Bolton Road and
Manningham Lane.
