Jetons, Medalets & Tokens, Volume Four,

The British Isles from circa 1830.

The coverage embraces a wide range of mostly die-stamped discs, with a general preference for the smaller sizes.

The range includes:

- Historical medalets and some medals.
- Farthing size tokens and counters, plus advertising tickets of large sizes.
- Theatre and garden tickets, plus checks for concerts, public houses and clubs.
- Industrial checks, colliery tokens, market tallies and farming tokens.
- Many additional descriptions of published pieces, as well as comments on the historical contexts in which they were issued.

Many of the minor products of Britain's die sinking industry catalogued here have not been published previously. Others have been described in nineteenth and early twentieth century publications, but have not been illustrated before. Some other series of small die-stamped discs are well known and have been the subjects of much detailed research, albeit reported in scattered sources.

Format: Quarto, 848 pages; Hardback; Gilt..

The fourth volume in Michael Mitchiner's series includes 3,725 specimens, catalogued and illustrated with photographs at 1.5 times actual size.
