Arguably the hobbies most prolific and best author on all manner of metal detecting topics, Pioneering the hobby in the U.K. in the late 1960’s Edward ‘Ted’ Fletcher wrote this little gem of a book in 1978, yet it still stirs one to get up, get out, and enjoy this wonderful hobby of metal detecting. The first ten years of the hobby are featured in a ‘potted’ introduction to the Directory & Guide’. This is followed by legal aspects of the time, a chapter on tides, searching rivers and canals with the heavy duty, yet inexpensive SEA SEARCHER magnet (available from us in the accessories section) There are topics on researching methods together with a chapter devoted to cleaning your finds.
