Gold has been sought all over the realm for the last 400 years! Many people are surprised to learn that it can be found in the United Kingdom. Not much has been written on the subject  and most of that is confined to geological and technical papers. Information is scant, even about the Kildonan Gold Rush from 1868 to 1870. The author, together with a growing crop of amateurs, mostly members of mineral and lapidary clubs, have been panning from time to time in the main locations over the years. This book contains all the references to old and new sites, indicating procedure, and gives a little of the history of the main Scottish workings.
